In '86 I had 8 Guns on the Wall, & 1 in the car...; last, to euthanase animals maybe roadhit, a .22 Rifle. But after a Shopping Centre SKS, 60 Rnd & 13 KIA...; I swapped the .22 for an 1898 Win. 32-30, to plug any Nut firing in my direction. A fortnite later at front gate a .243 slug ricocheted 5 yds away, from 150Yds out !

@BungaEBiker I NEVER MEASURED THE THICKNESS OF AN ALUMINUM CAN BEFORE. I KNOW THE BOTTOM SIDES GET THICKER GRADUALLY TOWARDS THE BOTTOM. THE LAST HALF INCH IS NOT SO GRADUAL. THE BOTTOM IS PRETTY THICK COMPARED TO THE SIDES BY FAR.

@muddymuddymuddmann I saw a guy rewire a motor with a whole bunch of phases to become a generator or alternator or something not quite sure but any how it would produce electricity instead of using it. well used some while it produced some anyway. Sorry I ll get to the point I m getting to is he got rid of all the grease no grease at all it makes too much drag. he used light machine oil only. it would really spin good then. oh well you should try it with out grease it will spin like the dickens.

A few months ago I was doing my sisters ball joints (98 Blazer) and I ready to put the caliper back on... didn't know weather to laugh or cry when I noticed it was on the wrong side of the axle.

When you rip something apart and put it back together. Just so cool to gain an understanding of how something works.

@muddymuddymuddmann I'll pass a little tip Scott, I use Royal Purple synthetic grease for my bearings, yeah it cost's more but it's superior and offers long life with much less friction. It may help in low wind conditions if one is looking to squeeze out max electrons if someone wants to pick at small details. Carry on and git that thing up in the sky will ya!

Great to see this good work. May be advisable to add a mechanical attachment, a dome allen screw or three so as there is thermal expansion & contraction between the GRP resin & magnet & cast steel brake disc, so the disc does not shed the whole set up affer a heavy frost or a very hot day. Or may be some light twine, threaded through the vanes of the disc & across the resin.....dacron or may be dental floss and finish of with a coat of super glue, to fix the knots.

I HAVE SEEN WHERE PEOPLE PUT SOME FIBER CLOTH AROUND THE OUTER EDGE AND CAST IT IN ON ROTORS THAT DONT HAVE THE 1/8th LIP. THERE ARE ALSO MAGNETS THAT ARE PREDRILLED SO YOU CAN BOLT THEM DOWN. THERE WONT BE ENOUGH RPMS ON A TEN FOOT PROP TO OVERPOWER THE MAGNETIC FLUX.

I WILL ADD THE FIBER MESH IN THE CAST FOR THE SECOND ROTOR FOR DEMO THOUGH.

@bobsoriginal1 YOU CAN USE IT. IT WOULD HELP AS WELL, BUT NO I DIDNT USE IT ON THIS MACHINE'S MAGNET ROTOR. THE STEEL BEHIND THE MAGNETS WILL HEAT SINK THE HEAT AWAY NICELY. BUT IT CAN BE USED TO ADD STRENGTH. ALSO A STRIP OF FIBERGLASS DRYWALL TAPE WOULD HELP AROUND THE UOTER EDGE AROUND THE MAGNETS FOR ADDED STRENGTH AS WELL. Hey Scott Remember to tell the viewers to mark the magnet template and the magnet they start with and when they do the other rotor to use the oposite side of the template down.If you dont even 1/16 differance turns into alot of diferance in the magnets so if you use mirror images they will all line up and it will make it look like a perfect job.,Shawn

@FrankaDith HEY FRANK, THANKS, WHEN A CHARGE CONTROLLER SENSES THAT THE BATTERIES ARE AT FULL CAPACITY, THERE MUST BE SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR THE POWER TO GO. SO THE CONTROLLER SENDS THE BATTERY POWER THROUGH THE DUMP LOAD RESISTER. AT THE SAME TIME THE WIND TURBINE IS UNDER THE LOAD OF THE BATTER OR DUMP LOAD TO KEEP IT FROM OVERSPEEDING. SO IN THE WINTER I WOULD HAVE THE DUMP LOAD INSIDE TO HELP HEAT AS WELL.

@FrankaDith ALMOST EXACTLY. YES THE SAME PRINCIPAL.. HIGH CURRENT DC CONTACTS WITH CAPACITORS CAN BE USED IN CONJUNTION TO SERVE THE SAME PRUPOSE. A RELAY WITH A RESISTOR IN SERIES WITH THE ACTUATOR COIL TO STRIGGER THE RELAY AT A SPECIFIC VOLTAGE AND HEAVY DC CONTACTS WITH A CAPACITOR PARALLELED ACROSS THE CONTACTS ,(TO MINIMIZE THE SPARKIN OR ARCING), CAN WORK WELL. THE CAPACITORS NEED TO BE ABOUT 3 TIMES THE RATED VOLTAGE, THE CONTACTS SHOULD BE RATED FOR DC AND 2 TO 3 TIMES THE VOLTS / AMPS.
